Travelport CEO Jeff Clarke Named One Of The Top 25 Most Influential Executives In The Travel Industry By Business Travel News
New York, NY 01-25-2007 --
Travelport Limited, one of the largest global travel conglomerates, announced today that Jeff Clarke, president and CEO, was named one of the top 25 most influential executives in the travel industry by Business Travel News.
Clarke earned this honor, in part, by making a strategic move to consolidate its GDS business, Galileo, with Worldspan to provide greater cost efficiencies and value for travel agents and suppliers. The combined company will draw on its complementary strengths to promote technology innovation and decrease the cost of travel distribution, providing benefits to all customers including travel suppliers, travel agencies and consumers. Worldspan will augment Travelport's global breadth and diversity and will enhance Travelport's technology platform, in particular in the online distribution segment.
Clarke was named President and CEO of Cendant's Travel Distribution Services division in April 2006 and in July led the company through an acquisition by the Blackstone Group.
Business Travel News has been the voice of authority for corporate travel buyers throughout North America for more than 20 years. This year marks that 23rd annual list of the top 25 most influential executives.
